Garden Plans > 2016: Open Door Garden

About this Garden Plan

Open Door Community Garden began in Spring of 2013. It is uniquue in that is located beside a small river on an old railroad spur. So underneath our raised beds are dense gravel and coal pieces that the spur once delivered. We began with Railroad ties filled with some local soil and municipally produced compost. We have about 15 8' x 8' beds. We hope todeepen them in the future with another layer of ties.
