About this Garden Plan

located in Douglas County Nebraska, at 3720 Aurora Dr (75 & Pratt) in the Tyler Estate originally built by Clinton & Margaret Tyler in 1955. Christopher & Kristin Tyler assumed ownership in 2003. Our main vegetable garden grown each year. We plant a variety of veggies that we eat regularly. This will include 3 raised beds 2' above ground and 4' x 8' in size. We grow bush beans, pole beans, various onions, various lettuce, Norland potatoes, California sweet peppers, Brussel sprouts, garlic, and asparagus. We also have a few plants of marigolds to help with insect control. Outside of the beds we also plant Bi-color and painted corn and rhubarb.

This is a prolific variety that produces 2′ tall stalks that are loaded with x-large sprouts that average 2″ in diameter with a medium-green color. Catskill is a great variety for fresh eating or processing.

85"3" x 7"White Ebenezer is always crisp and delicious and by far the most popular onion you can grow! It produces a medium-sized, 2 to 3" diameter bulb with a flat shape and a nice strong onion flavor. It is gold colored on the outside, with papery skin, and pale yellow flesh. Its mild flavor is great for cooking, and it also stores well. Long-day, open pollinated type. Harvest: August-September.

Then as they grow and get approx 6" tall start to cover the stems with dirt leaving the leafy part exposed and create a hill - continue to do this as they grow taller and build up the hill. This helps keep the potatoes cool. Potatoes only need approx 1" of water per week Dig up potatoes about 2 weeks after plant has died. If above 80 degrees, pick and put in a cool spot immediately. Ph level should be 5.8-6.5 Plant about 2-4 weeks BEFORE last frost.
Rhubarb 22' 11"2' 11" x 2' 11"Prime harvesting season for rhubarb is in the early spring, when the stems are tender and juicy, and before they become tough and fibrous. The best time is a harvest window of about 8 weeks, beginning in May and continuing through June
