Garden Plans > 2014: Dandelion Acre Main Garden
Our main food crops here at The Dandelion Acre...
Although it is laid out in a traditional style, we are allowing pathways of mulch between rows so that we can easily access either side of our plantings, similar to the square foot gardening plans. We have heavy clay soil, but have been adding manure, compost, egg shells & lime as needed over the last 3-4 years, so it is finally starting to be what I would consider "other" at the moment...not great, but not heavy clay so much.
Generic labels (i.e., "Canning Type" for tomatoes) will be filled in once plants are bought from local farmer's market. Specific types are non-GMO, organic, heirloom seeds that were purchased from Baker Seed Company, Seed Savers Exchange, &/or RH Shumway.
Looking forward to fresh veggies, canning as much as possible for fall/winter consumption, and cellaring of root vegetables...maybe even a little saurkraut!
I will be posting other garden (partial shade for chard, kale, ect., container, herb, medicinal plant) plans for here at TDA, as soon as we get them laid out!
